Experienced Property Manager Position in New York City (Field Based)!

Are you a proactive and highly motivated Property Manager looking for a new challenge in the heart of New York City?

My client is seeking a talented individual with a minimum of three years of experience in residential property management to oversee a portfolio of properties on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a consistent presence at multiple properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and in optimal condition.
• Lead and manage onsite building staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
• Negotiate and supervise contracts, while overseeing repairs, renovations, upgrades, and construction projects.
• Manage unit turnovers, coordinating closely with the leasing team, brokers, and building staff to prepare and lease units.
• Inspect apartments before and after tenant occupancy to ensure quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with various government programs, including Section 8 and HUD.
• Be on call for emergencies overnight and during weekends, responding promptly to any issues that arise.
• Oversee code compliance, managing the removal of violations related to HPD, DOB, ECB, and FDNY.
• Draft and review emails and letters, ensuring they are professionally formatted and error-free.
• Engage with tenants through multiple communication channels, including text, phone, email, and property management apps.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A self-starter who can work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and staff.
• Proven supervisory experience and a keen eye for detail.
• At least three years of experience in property management in New York City.
• Familiarity with HPD, DHCR, DOB, and ECB regulations, as well as building systems like boilers, electrical, and plumbing.
• Proficient in MS Office, with a willingness to learn and use web-based property management software. Experience with Yardi Voyager is a plus
